nCartes' Value and Adoption Growth Highlighted at the Spring 2026 SWOG Group Meeting

San Francisco, CA  |  May 13, 2026

Presentations at the Spring 2026 SWOG Cancer Research Network Group Meeting, held April 30th to May 2nd in San Francisco, highlighted the growing adoption of nCartes across SWOG sites as well as the platform's measurable impact on clinical trial efficiency and data quality.

SWOG (https://swog.org) is a major part of the cancer research infrastructure in the United States and the world, with members across 45 states and eight other countries as part of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) National Clinical Trials Network, or NCTN.

nCartes is a cloud-based EHR-to-EDC platform that automates clinical trial data capture from electronic health records. The platform materially reduces manual data entry time and costs, improves data quality, and decreases source data verification requirements.

During the meeting, Michael LeBlanc, PhD, SWOG Group Statistician, and Director of the SWOG Statistics and Data Management Center (SDMC), co-located at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and Cancer Research And Biostatistics, emphasized the value nCartes is delivering to participating sites. Dr. LeBlanc highlighted improvements in data quality, significant reductions in data entry time for both numeric and text-based source data, and substantial downstream benefits resulting from fewer data queries.

In a separate session, Rodney Sutter, Program Director at Cancer Research And Biostatistics and part of the SWOG SDMC, provided updates on the SWOG-nCartes collaboration. Mr. Sutter noted that SWOG sites using nCartes increased 125% year over year. He also reported high levels of user satisfaction among participating research sites.

The impact of nCartes is also documented in several peer-reviewed publications, most recently by Goodman et al. (2025), Automating Data Entry from Electronic Health Record to Electronic Data Capture Using Trusted Cloud-based Application in Multisite Cancer Clinical Trials, Journal of the Society for Clinical Data Management (https://www.jscdm.org/article/id/371).

"We are proud of the results nCartes has been able to accomplish for SWOG sites and for the SWOG community in collaboration with the SWOG SDMC," says John McIlwain, CEO of nCartes, Inc. "It's an honor to support an organization that contributes so materially to the advancement of cancer research and patient care."
